Google ranks pages on a scale from 0 to 10. This happens randomly and nobody knows when the page rank will come out. The page ranking is a short process and it's going on right now. If you have the seo toolbar (which you need to download if you don't have it) then every page you visit will have a little green bar and tell you the page rank of that page. New sites that aren't indexed yet will show n/a and once they are indexed they are a 0. Sites can either go up or down with each ranking. It is said that page ranking is done every 3 months.
Why is page rank important?
Well, page rank is important for link building. You want links from pages with high page rank because they are more respected by google and will help your page rank better. The actual page rank of your site doesn't really matter, just the page rank from the sites linking to your page. Today I had multiple Ezine articles go from 0 to 3. This is a huge jump! And since those articles link to my pages, it will help my pages rank for the keywords that were anchored from the ezine pages. So to earn money from home you want to get links from high page rank pages. A link from a PR 4 is a great link! Don't think you will be getting many links from anything above a 5. PR 1's are great as links too! You just want as many links as you can get that are related to your topic. That's why places like trade backlinks are so important for earning money online.

Okay, so how do you show in google for the word(s)/phrase you want to rank for?

The first thing you need to make sure of is that your word/phrase (we will call it your money phrase) is in the name of your site. That means if you are making a blogger it should be www. moneyprase-yadayadayad.com this will help you so much more than trying to show up for a money phrase that isn't in your website domain name.

Next you need to make sure it is in your post title. And then you need to make sure it appears in the actual post. Don't put it in the actual post too much though because that will look spammy and google might sandbox your site. Sandboxing is when google penalizes your site by putting it at the bottom of the search results, but it's not permanent (usually it lasts for 4-9 months) until they realize you are not spam. And then finally you want your money phrase and all types of variations of it in the tags section of the post. Money phrase and money phrases and 2 different phrases so they both need to be in the tags separately.

If you have read my previous posts you know the emphasis I put on making sites quickly. If you have been reading about how to earn money from home online for longer than 2 weeks and you haven't even made any free bloggers, squidoos, hubpages, or wordpresses than you might not ever make money online.
It's all about action! So before reading any further start making some free sites. I would recommend buying some actual dot com domains though because then you own them and just like real estate you can sale them in the future. But even if you do end up buying domains you will need to make a lot of blogger etc to get the word out about your main money making site.

The first thing you need to know when trying to earn money from home online is that backlinks are king! You need to know how to trade backlinks with other sites. Do you see how the words "trade backlinks" is click-able in the previous sentence? That is a link and it links to a backlink page. Because I made a link to that page it will help that page rank in google for the term that I used, which in this case is "trade backlinks". That is why you never want the word "click here" to actually be click-able because that will not help the site your linking to to rank for anything other than the words click here. Who is going to go to google and type in "click here"? Nobody!
So always remember to use words that pertain to the site as the anchor text. Anchor text refers to the text that you make click-able to take someone to another site or maybe even a different page or post in the same site.

I will break everything down and explain the process of making money online step by step. First let me tell you that I just learned almost everything I will teach you a month ago. Let me list some things that will help you understand internet/computer lingo. A search engine can be seen as the page that you use to search for things on the internet. Most people use google as their search engine but there are many other search engines such as yahoo or msn. One thing that I didn't know a month ago was that if I searched for lets say the words "make money" on google, it would bring up different pages than yahoo would bring up. This is because google and yahoo use different methods on which pages to bring up on the first page for different words. Since about 90% of searches done on the internet use google, we will focus mainly on them.
To make money online you have to be able to get your web page, or blog to come up on the first page of google when someone searches for it. But nobody is going to be searching for you web page. Let's take for example that you have a web page (or blog) and it's called chocolatecookies.com. Nobody is going to go to google and type in chocolatecookiesguide.com in the search bar. That's why you have to decide on the words that you think people will use that are related to your website. For your website we would want your page to come up when anyone put in chocolate cookies. So, we call the term "chocolate cookies" your keywords. Now that we know the keywords you are trying to rank (be in the first page of results in google) for, we can start to get your site ranked.
